When I was at the dealer they gave me a CT200h brochure. In the back where it lists all of the cars specs, for fuel it lists it at 87 octane only. It does not say 87 octane or higher for its fuel requirement like the manual states.

for what it's worth, the brochure doesn't state "87 octane only". it only states 87 octane as the fuel requirement. "requirement" denotes that it would be the bare minimum. i'm not trying to start a nonsensical crusade about octane but rather just wanted to point out that it does not state anywhere that it is 87 octane "ONLY."

i'm currently keeping notes on the subjective differences of 91 octane vs. 87 octane but haven't accumulated enough mileage to tell any significant difference, if any. maybe i'll post up with some more data/info later on.

Please do, I'd be interested. On my Highlander Hybrid 91 octane on trps provide better mileage, but only 1-2 MPG. The response was better but not enought ot warrant using it all the time. Interestingly enough on the Highlander it said in fine print all performance numbers were with 91 octane.

It removes the potential for human error (short of punching in the wrong numbers) and tracks it over long periods of time. I used to use excel for tracking mileage, but this app works way better.

Anyway, you can see why I'm interested in adding a CT200h to the stable. I love my 4Runner, but it sure does drink gas and I simply don't need it most of the time in my DINK family. I think the CT will be great for doing most of my driving and letting my 4Runner relax at home when I'm not camping/biking/hiking.

*Very well might be on Android or BB app stores too, but I have an iPhone, so I only know about iphone.

Just did a 250 mile round trip. I forgot to get gas somehow, when I saw the gas light go on I kept on driving until I got to my exit. I hit 362 miles on the tank and filled it with 9.26 gallons. 39mpg mixed driving, I was happy with it.

Just under 500 miles: about 50% city (lots of stop and go--we stop for pedestrians in Savannah), 40% state highway, and 10% freeway. Hasn't dropped below 45 yet (currently 46.1), which I'm sure is high. Looking for a measured mile nearby so I can check out the odometer. This is my first Toyota product, but both my German and Swedish cars were 2-5% high on miles driven.

I'll do a gas pump check starting with my next fill up.

Default Hyper miles?

Is anyone getting hyper miles or Prius like mpgs? I would strongly consider buying a CT if it consistantly got 45 mpgs.

I'm pretty sure if you drive like Grandma, you can easily do that "consistently", but I defer to others. I'm just basing this on what I've been reading on the forums.

I seem to be getting almost exactly at 40mpg, though my onboard computer says 41-42. I do a mix of driving, and though I drive gently, I'm certainly not hyper-miling. I keep the selector in ECO at all times, and do accelerate slowly unless I'm in someone else's way.

Hope that helps.

I'm noticing the car gets well over 40mpg during all-highway driving (IE cruising with the cruse control on)

582 miles total since delivery. Dashboard average: 46.6. Calculated fill up average: 45.9. Checked the odometer against a measured mile (3 runs) and found it about 1% optimistic. Negligible. 53.3 mpg "current average" on 105 mile round trip yesterday on lightly traveled, mostly 2 lane US highway at 60 (cruise control) about 60% of the time. Slowed to pass through built up areas. Normal the whole trip except brief use of sport (first time) to pass a truck. Pleasantly surprised at how well it responded. Not my turbo charged Volvo, but very respectable.

I haven't made any conscious effort to change my driving style. Seldom look at the mileage gauge, but when I do, the needle has always been in the Eco range. Except when I passed the truck in Sport.

I'm getting an indicated 36.X mpg over 850 miles, but I'm mostly using sport mode and driving it like a sports car. I enjoy the balance of "fun to drive" with fuel economy. I wasn't looking for Prius like frugality. But I was looking for more than Prius like handling.
