You might want to read this thread. LEDs are only marginally brighter than halogen lamps. HIDs blast them out of the water in terms of luminosity. I was very disappointed with the LEDs on my LS600hL compared to my LS460's HIDs.

a sidenote to this is probably more about the energy savings of led's over hid/xenon. they produce less heat (wasted energy) while creating a comparable bright lighting. i think led is the future of all lighting for practical purposes.

The standard LED drl's are different than the ones that come with the LED package. They are broken up in the middle where as the ones in the package are continious across the front of the whole light.

this fact kind of leads me to believe that perhaps upgrading from the standard halogen's to led's may require a whole light assembly/housing swap. so...it doesn't seem like it would be a cheap option at this time. anyone else have any ideas?

Any idea how much the LED option is, if you special order the car with those separately?

Has anyone attempted to mod HIDs into the factory projectors? Looks like accessing the headlight housing is no cake walk...

Thanks! This helped me educate the dealer, as he thought it only came with a package. Not sure if these are worth the $, but thought I'd be disappointed if I stayed with the standard halogens, so I included this in my order. I'm coming from a car w/ xenon lights so the bar has been raised!

i wonder if someone with know-how would review CT LEDs... technology changes all the time, fact they were worse on now 4-5 year old LS, doesnt mean it would be worse on CTh.

Good point! Especially considering how much thought and ingenuity they put into crafting this car!
