We leased a 2016 CT for 3 years as we figured there would be more hybrid/electric options by then and the resale of hybrids and electrics currently appears to be plummeting. Perhaps due to low gas prices.

A new $30k Nissan Leaf is now going for around $8-$9k after 3 short years.

But I do like this artist rendering of a potential CT replacement vehicle.

In the mean time, given fuel prices, new battery tech on the horizon, and heavy competition, this is one example of why a lease can work in your favor. A lot of change coming very quickly.

Well, I checked sales numbers and they have been dismal this year, no month exceeded 1000 , most months were 1/2 of YAG. All hybrids are down due to low gas price, but CT even more so since even with high gas prices, I think it's a crappy value proposition. The only reason I bought was generous employer incentive to go green. More compelling is the new Prius Prime, with federal and local tax incentive.

Exactly, we got ours for the price of a nicely equipped Prius which we found to be, well uglier, and too big.
