Default Remote start installed

Had a local shop install a remote start. Press the lock button 3 times on the remote and it fires right up. No takeover feature has been figured out for Lexus', but not a big deal. I paid 500 bucks all in out the door. Job took about 4 hours to complete.

imho a remote start is completely nonsense on a hybrid...but thats just my 0.02 $
or am i the only one that doens't get the purpose? an engine doesn't really warm up in idle and the wear is higher than during normal driving.

Of course it does. Not on a diesel, but gas it sure does.

Several reasons......

1. It allows the car to warm up the interior
2. Allows the car to dehumidify/de-ice the windshield
3. Allows the car to cool down with ac in the hot Summer sun - especially a car that has a black interior.
4. Allows the car to continue running while it's locked when wanting to maintain a warm or cool interior....(ie: running into the store or getting your kids from inside the school
5. Gives the seat warmers a chance to do their magic, before my wife plants her pretty little bum down
6 etc
7. etc

I agree it can be a useful feature. The main feature I would like is the ability to lock the car while it's on. Especially on a hot or cold day.

I noticed you live in BC too roadfrog... where did you get it done?

You live in Chilliwack!? I've only seen one other CT in the 'Wack and it was the same color as ours.

Yep, I live on the North side of town (old part) so you may not see mine much. There is also a white one that is always parked at the newspaper office... now I am sounding very small-town!

Mine (actually my wife's), is Fire Agate Pearl. We live down on the Sardis side of the wack by Twin Rinks.

So if you see me say hi! If it's my wife....don't!
