I didn't get into details with the numbers yet since I had to leave in a hurry but my credit is around 660 when they ran it. The msrp is $38800. I will head back on Monday to focus on the details on how they came up with the numbers but for now, all I have is $350 a month with $1500 down for 36m/10k. I'm reading online and some people have some better deals but this might be based on location or credit

instead of putting a downpayment. use that money as a MSD( multiple security depost) buys down MF and you get money back at the end of the lease.

~$350 x 4 MSD = 1400

Reading about all the leasing terminology now. Once I head back on Monday and is given the numbers, I could make a much more educated guess on if the deal is good or not. Would residual matter if I do not plan to buy the car after the lease ends?

the residual is from the bank based on miles/ per year.
if you are not planning to buy at the end then higher residual is ideal(taking into account the miles you need per year).

I never only ask "how much a month" when negotiating a lease. I always ask sales rep to give me MSRP, Cap cost, Money factor, Residual plus acquisition fee and any disposition fee.

Additionally I make sure it includes gap insurance. Years ago gap was optional, today it's pretty much standard.

These numbers are very important if you need or decide to terminate or buy out the lease early.

Update:

Just got my hands on the blue ct200h f sport with nav for $350/month and 10k/36m with $1500 down(fees, tags, first month, etc). That price also includes the wear and tear protection(city life ughh). My credit was 661 but I was bumped to tier 1+! Not sure why but who's asking. Also my money factor was brought down from .00055 to .00007 by utilizing 6 MSDs at $375 a piece totaling $2250. So in essence, I saved more than a thousand by using MSD! I would like to thank this website for informing me of all the lease terminology and savings.

Hey all, I'm looking at a leasing a CT200h and I feel the guy isn't being up front. Where is the $2500 lease cash applied? Looking at tasue's deal I know he hasn't done his best. He proposed pretty much same deal but MSRP is right at 1k lower.

I feel he can sharpen his pencil a bit more. Thoughts?

MSRP 37859
Sales price 36312
MF .00055. (Looking into msd after I finish typing)
1500 due $355 36/10k out the door
My taxes are quite a bit lower too at 7% and a trade. Credit is good 740ish.

He claims he used all available discounts but I'm not seeing it. I know dealer holdback was ignored when I asked he ignored the question. He's trying to sell me on invoice pricing. He's also trying to lowball the trade. Not too many choices in the area so trying to push this guy to be fair.

Thx!
