IS Antenna Retrofit on CT
I've been looking for alternative antennas since the 11-13 antennas are hideous and the covers are just to big for my liking. I wanted to swap out for the 14+ antennas but it the connectors doesn't match the 11-13 models.
I was able to find an IS antenna for cheap and opened it up. Originally hoping that the internals were similar and solder new plugs to match the CT, opening it up and lining up the connecters made it clear that that wasn't going to work.
Instead, I removed the three antenna boards from the CT200h and fit it into the IS antenna. The can be glued in place but it's rather snug in there so there's no need. I see no change in reception after the swap.
You do have to do a little cutting on the IS antenna so that you can fit the wires through the base. Also removing the little nub on the bottom that doesn't line properly with our roof holes.
I love the sleekness of this antenna. I purchased a black one since I plan on wrapping the roof next week.
