Will these bulbs work on a 2015 Ct? 80w seems pretty high, I would be worried about melting the housing. Anyone try these?

I don't know.

But here is what I did with mine prior to install. I have a heavy duty battery jumper exactly the same ones tow truck drivers use. I made sure the battery pack was fully charged. Then I connected ALL the led lights to the battery pack and lit them up and continuously for some couple of hours. I then checked them by feeling around the metal fins at the base. The metal bases were warm to touch, but NOT HOT. So it was not hot enough to melt anything.

Be careful not to touch the metal fins quickly since you don't know how hot it is initially. Also I would do this on a clean non-combustible table area in a room where it is safe from kids or pets running around. Also be sure to wear UV protection glasses /googles.

When I did the above, I had the same concern about overheating. More than some 10 years ago I put in some high wattage high quality EXPENSIVE halogen Sylvania bulbs that were supposed to be "SAFE" and direct plug and play. As it turned out it worked well, meaning it was very bright and I could see further, BUT it melted the light housing. 😧

with higher wattage, you will want to run a relay harness to the battery. so it won't melt the OEM wires.

personally, i would look for OEM spec brand of headlamp lights, such as philips or Osram.

Don't get LED's with those "fans"... they'll quickly burn out, and THEN cause issues due to heat.

Stick with the bulky [yes, but can't win them all...] heat sinks!

Hey everyone, I am waiting for delivery on my new CPO addition to my lexus family and was following this thread and was curious to if anyone knows if this will be a good match and is similar to what is being talked about here. I am leasing the car and do not want to do any heavy mods so just bulb update is all good by me just want to make sure colors match well and I got the right bulbs. Thanks for feedback, can't wait to put a little personality into this one.

Just make sure there is NO FANS in the unit. Also the closer to 4500k temp the closer the match to the original LED DRL. The second set I put on the low beams are 600k (original was 6500k, but two got damaged during front bumper crash. So I replaced them by moving the original ones to fogs and new ones to low beams).

I would also let the LED bulbs light up and running for about 30 minutes or so and see how hot the LED bulbs get.
You can either connect the LED bulbs to a booster 12 volt battery pack or just plug into the car's socket with engine running to test this (so not to depleted the car's battery which I doubt it will happen in just 30 minutes ) I tested all the LED bulbs before I actually insert them into the sockets to make sure. The light assemblies can be very expensive if these LED bulbs melt them.

I think I am going to go for these I am not looking to try too hard to match the ones on my current IS but just a few notches higher then they are now, the car is very nice as is. I want to change all the interior lights to led as well trying to find all the bulb sizes I know there must be a post somewhere here. Thanks for the advice, so leave the bulb out of the socket hanging out for 30 mins and check for melting or overheating right?

I think 30 minutes should suffice. I did it on my first go around about a couple years ago for a full two hours hooked up to an external booster battery pack.

I did not use an extra harness relay and they did fine. I think the 30 to 40 watts each bulb are Ok without harness relays.

So I did try out these bulbs , I feel they look pretty good. But are a tiny bit to dim for my taste, any suggestions for brighter, I would assume I would need a fan version and it seems like the wrong way to go otherwise I'll deal with these and the led fogs which make up for the light loss. But overall wow.. what a simple transformation from those yucckk halogens..

so i found that philips makes LED headlamp bulbs.

only problem- they come in size h4.

i can't find an adapter for h4 to h11 anywhere. it may have to be custom wiring setup.

It looks decent in the daytime, I do love the color combinations between the starfire & Led's now .I am just impressed with how simple, easy and inexpensive it was to make a remarkable difference with $100 of LED's to fully convert over.

I am all over the place tonight lol, any thoughts on these ? . They seem to have fantastic reviews, I know to steer away from the fans, I wonder how loud they will be and if they would upset me and the super quite hybrid system, or would the fans or power burnout the wiring, I am on the fence just ordering them and sending the others back.

Wow, those bulbs look amazing.. talk about official lol. Double the price, no reviews yet.. I may not be ready for that jump yet..
