I have had my car two months. Occasionally I go into the garage to take out trash or to take out the dogs and my car is making a humming noise from the rear. What exactly is the car doing when it makes this noise. Just curious.

the spaceship sound supposedly can be eliminated on 2012+ by removing a wire on the speaker from the driver's side...you may have to remove the front bumper though.

You guys are talking about 2 different hums. The one from the rear was described and the one in the front is used to alert pedestrians that the car is on and moving since it is so quiet otherwise
