Voice command quirk discovered
So I'm sitting in my brand new CT200 after my wife took it for a spin and I'm saying "Satellite Radio 1" and voice command is saying "I'm sorry that command is not recognized". So I scream the command again and it finally works. It never did this in the dealer lot and I haven't experienced any problems before when speaking in a normal tone of voice.
First thought...I have to take it in and have it looked at.
I tried various commands and every one had the same problem. Mostly that I was not being heard unless I was screaming at the top of my lungs and even that didn't always work.
Solution:
Make sure you have your center air conditioning vents pointed no more than 30 degrees towards the ceiling. Apparently if the air is blowing towards the microphone on the roof, then it creates enough background noise that your commands are not being heard.
I've successfully tried the same two commands in the same tone of voice while angling the center air vents and found that one was recognized and one was not.
Speakerphone through bluetooth will also suffer dramatically. People on the other end said they couldn't hear me or asked if I was in a car because it sounded muffled or distant. The minute I turned the vent straight, they could hear me clearly.
Best Regards,
Peter

Hey Ed with Woodfield Lexus,
We've had customers come in with the same issue. On the ES350 when the fan speed is on high and the command "dial by number" is requested and the number you are looking to call is stated the system adds 1's and 4's after the requested number. Turn the fan off, works like a charm, turn it on high again....1's and 4's
