I hope so, but that's not what this car was made for

I believe CT 300h was trademarked, and we could see an application of the drivetrain from the Camry Hybrid/upcoming ES 300h, etc, with little to no drop in overall efficiency seeing as how the Camry Hybrid is rated at 43/39 mpg with 200 total system HP and weighs 3,435 pounds vs the current CT at 134 hp and 3,146 pounds.

Personally, I don't want or need more power. The longer I drive my CT200h f Sport the happier I am with its performance. On our Australian country "roads", where a bit of overtaking at short notice can be handy, I find the CT quite the "pocket rocket". Around the city and suburbs, no-one is in front of me from the green light to 60km/ph (the speed limit). And merging on the freeway, accelerating from about 60km/ph to about 110km/ph, isn't a worry.

Two things: I think they go quicker after a bit of mileage. Secondly,my f Sport is painted "Flame Blue" or I think you call it "Ultrasonic Blue". In any case it is faster than the other colours. Finally, no disrespect, but I'm sure if some of you guys had your way we would have the CT5000h.

I have since found rumors of a CX 300h coming based on the Rav 4 platform. This would be a little bigger and have even better mileage. Maybe as early as the end of 2012.

Well...... It seem like 43/39 is a statistically significant drop from the mid-forties being reported for the CT. And you could reasonably expect a CT with a larger engine installed to be heavier than the CT 200 so you wont make much back there. More power sounds good theoretically but I'm not sure its that important in this car IMHO.

HUH? How so? The CT is rated at 43/40 and the Camry #'s aren't that different and likely can get just as high of mileage #'s as the CT, no? I'm pretty sure they have to use the same EPA rating system.

No! The EPA estimates are just that, Estimates!

Camry hybrid forums are reporting mostly in the 38-42 range with a few up in the mid 40's and a few down at 36 and slightly below.

Seems to me in the the CT forums folks are getting in the 42-48+ range.

That's roughly a 10% difference and that's statistically significant.

With a larger engine and 300 more lbs to haul around its not really a surprise the Camry gets a bit less mileage than the CT

Well okay then. I know the EPA changed how they rate cars back in 2008. My last car was an '04 and the rating was 18/27 or something like that and I drove mostly highway and my average was only 22 or 23 MPG's and at best, all highway and babying the car, I only got 26.5 MPG.

I assumed the drivetrain and brand is similar as was the testing for the CT and the Camry, so thought the #'s wouldn't be too far off. I haven't checked any Camry forums to date. I wonder what hypermilers can get in the Camry?

More HP will translate to more gas consumption unless its coming from the electric motor.
