Gas Mileage 46MPG!
Just filled my first gas tank with gas. It was $36.00 and 9.1 gallons for 419 miles. I was floored. My old diesel used to get about 39-40 and cost $50.00 to fill up. Very cool.

It's been a couple weeks now and I am loving the great gas mileage that I am seeing on my new CT. I've found that even when using Sport Mode on the freeway and driving without my usual lead foot, I have been averaging 43 MPG in mostly street and (traffic) highway driving. Been on a couple of trips between OC and LA and still getting great mileage.

I live in the Phoenix area. I have a 27 mile one way trip to work. The drive is 50% "open road" . Speed limit is 45-50 with a signal every mile or so, the other 50% is freeway. The CT has just under 5K on the odo.
The drive is pretty flat. I've been getting 51-52 mpg in the computer (2-3 less by miles divided by gallons).
There has not really been much of a difference between sport and normal. I have been driving gently, trying to keep my mpg's as high as possible.
Now....... I have made two trips to So Cal. The mpg's seem to be in the 44-46mpg range. The CT mileage drops quickly above 70 mph. The first trip I did use the cruise and kept it near the speed limit (75). It dropped quickly to around 38. Now 38 isn't bad, but after weeks of 48....well you get the idea.
Hills and speed will set you back, but if you drive easy you can get the 48 mpg's.
I will continue to leave it in Sport. It does give the extra push if you need it, without really giving much up.

these are some really nice MPGs you guys are getting, better than the advertised 42MPG combined...the gas prices really took a toll and sold my IS-F a few weeks ago (around 15-16MPG)...planning to buy a CT today and save some money!

new owner here. I also have a honda insight. I dont know what my avgs are but according to the computer I am getting 44mpg avg so far. i have only driven the car for 30 miles. in my honda insight im getting 50 mpg avg. however, i didnt buy the ct for the mpg alone. i would have gotten a prius for that. i bought it because its the highest mpg in a lexury car that i can afford
