Default 2012 F Sport Special Edition Owners!

Hello everyone!

Can one of you 2012 F Sport Special Edition owners PLEASE weight your rims/tires??
According to the Lexus website, they are lighter.
I am VERY curious to know if they are lighter, and if so, how much.

Thanks!

They do sell the Trident rims stand-alone but without the liquid silver finish the SE's get. I believe they should be at dealerships soon since the SE's are coming in.

Yeah, that seems about the same weight as the stock wheels.

3-4lbs doesn't affect a 3000lb car ......sure unsprung weight helps when road racing, but on the street . You'd never notice even 5-7 lbs per wheel. 10lbs.....might increase brake wear some, but I doubt much.

Better off losing 15lbs of yourself......help with your health. Seriously.

I have 18x8 ASA AR1 in my BMW and they are 22lb. They are regular alloy wheels so I expect 17x7.5 should be at most 22lb or less.

Uh, yes it does help, especially on a car without much power.

If you threw some 16-17lbs wheels on a CT with the same tires, you WILL notice it.

I've gone from heavy wheels to light wheels and back to heavy, its very much noticeable and might actually improve your mileage as well.

Remember the lighter the wheel which is tire+rim.....the worse off the ride becomes. Tires rebound over bumps faster it becomes noisier also. Again a few lbs isn't noticeable ....and will not affect mpg by any recordable amount.

Topography and wind affect mpg way more. If you are talking road racing and critical braking over a long race sure. But on the street dumping weight in a LEXUS quiet car is counter productive as far as ride quality and noise, they know this well.

I prefer to let Lexus determine that hence the two wheels weighing the almost the same. They studied it.
