NEW Tomei Arms 1JZ-GTE VVTi M8280 Turbine Kit
Newly released from Tomei Japan, the Tomei M8280 Turbine kit!! This is an all in 1 READY TO BOLT on turbo upgrade for your VVTi 1JZGTE. Performance, Reliability and Affordability were the key points that Tomei aimed when creating the M8280 kit all of which they were able to meet and exceed. Each component from the turbine, compressor & the center housing has all been designed to deliver the best all around balance of performance. Generally when upgrading to a larger frame turbo, response is sacrificed which is not the case with this turbine kit. Initial response is near stock with dramatic gains after 3000rpm.
The ARMS series turbo kits all come supplied with all the required gaskets and fitting accessories for a true bolt on application out of the box. So it can be installed immediately without the need to hunt for other parts.
Although we have yet to test this specific kit here at MVP, we have done extensive testing on my personal SR20DET S14 equipped with the Tomei M8270 Turbine kit. With nearly 4 hours of dyno time, countless nights in "Mexico" and well over 100 passes at the track it has yet to skip a beat and am confident this kit will perform just the same!
Follow Link to purchase, use code "ClubLexus" in your shipping notes and MVP will pick up your freight costs within the 48 states!!
1JZGTE Section
Regards,
Robert

Lets add it all up to go the 6262 route you stated:
Manifold - $1000 per your post
Turbo - $899.99 for the cheapest one(billet wheel, journal bearing)
Custom d/p, coldpipe, intake - $500(shooting way way way low here)
Oil Lines - $250 for PHR or similar quality
Total - $2649.99
Yes you have the potential to make more power no doubt but you also have to do other supporting mods to make that power and make it reliable. This turbo is for someone who is looking to be in the 400-450 range and doesn't plan to go further. It's 100% drop in and uses all factory piping so it's an all in 1 kit vs having to piece it all together.

Robert

The manifold you see pictured has not been released as of yet, Tomei cannot give me an exact ETA on it at this time either.
As for making it work on a Non VVTi 1JZ I would imagine it's possible but Tomei has not done testing to confirm what would need to change.

Robert

Haha, $500 MIGHT, MAYBE, buy you the materials for this endeavor. Then if you have no skills, you'll easily be double that paying for the labor to fit and weld. Oh, and then a good $300 for a wastegate. You hit the nail on the head.
