This superior strut tower bar has a rigidity of 30Kgs/mm, damping effect is 6x plus of aluminum alloy units, and 38% lighter. models available for 1st IS 01~05, 2nd IS 06~10, 2nd gen GS,

As you can see there is space for the engine cover to lift up the mounting fame. You don't have to remove the big center engine cover. The small side cover need to be removed for the mounting.
