Outstanding, we're back on the map serving the Lexus community. If there is any questions on these, please feel free to ask.

Let me just say this, something I found out and some good general purpose information. A 5.5L Toyota V8 w/ high compression and a massive cam made 690HP spinning to 9000rpm. That's information direct from the race shop.

Thanks!

Eric

GREAT JOB guys!!! I have a GS400, if I eventually go this route of buying a new engine will the car perform the same (the same 300hp/315tq @ crank)? Or will it be quicker? Approx. how much will it be to ship to NY (11779)? Thanks again...

Good Morning gentlemen,

I think you had answered this question in a prior post before it was deleted, but here goes again:

Given the new UR engines, can a 3UR (5.7) VVT-i I-force from a LX570/Tundra be transplanted into a 2nd gen GS4XX ?
Are the block sizes differnet than the new 4.6 or 5.0 engines that are currently used in the new LS/GS/IS-F cars ?
A TRD supercharged 3UR combo sounds mighty tempting.

Thanks.

300/315 hp/tq is a good starting point, but of course as a displacement goes up and the cam profile becaomes more aggressive, the HP goes up as well. You could be looking at 450HP on an aggressive 4.0L, and much much more on high strung 5.5L iron block. Just depends on where you want to be HP wise.

Shipping of course depends on who is used for transport, but for reference we just had a small aluminum V6 motor come in from Rhode Island that was $250 shipping. Figure between that and $350 shipping to NY for a V8.

Thanks!

Right, the new 'ur engine is massive. It will very nearly will hit the shock tower. Plus rising above that, the new 3ur isn't performance oriented in the least due to open decks, tangless bearings, and hydraulic lifters. There is a solution though. If you're looking for 500 Hp/Tq, we can build a 5.5L NA stroker that will drop directly into your second gen GS, and snap rigt into your harness. In the end, the cost will be less than swapping the massive 3urfe, and last ages.

Thanks!

Eric,

Thanks for the info. I had a line on a complete 3UR engine from a new Tundra that was wrecked, and with the coming of the TRD supercharger for this engine, I thought it might make for an interesting swap. I thought there might have been a resonable chance it would fit the engine bay given that the 430 and 460 engines fit into the 3rd gen GS cars.
Oh well.

Remember too that getting the motor is only a small part of the puzzle. Even if the motor did fit, you have to consider the transmission adapter, motor mounts, and electronics swap over. If you went with the TRD supercharger, it would stick out of the hood 6 inches. What if you took the same investment, and went with a high revving high compression 4.3L with an aggressive cam profile that makes similar power to the 5.7L w/ supercharger? The motor would fit directly into your engine bay, hook up to the transmission, and plug into your harness. Something to consider.

Some good pics of the optional billet stroker crank. It's the best of the best material and quality. This crank converts:

4.0L into a 4.7L

4.3L into a 5.0L

4.7L into a 5.5L

Some good shots of a 4.9L NA that we're building for a UK member. Wrapping up and looking great! The PS and AC should be in today, so we'll be looking to get them on tomorrow. The intake has been fitted, so we're going to media blast it for a natural finish and it's good to go. I'll fit the fuel injectors and rails I have here for it on Monday. We should be redy to ship by mid week if all goes well.

Pics of Ed's NA motor next to Larry's 5.4L stroker.

Thanks!!
