What is a charge pipe?
A charge pipe is part of the intake system located between the turbo and intercooler. This part usually sustains a lot of stress as it’s filled with boost pressure. However, most of automakers on the market choose to make this part in plastic instead of metal due to manufacturing cost. As a result, a failed charge pipe is a very common problem for force induction engine vehicle due to heat, ECU tuning with higher boost, and wear and tear under normal usage.
Where is the charge pipe located?
Diagram below shows the location of the charge pipe. You should be able to find its location once you open the engine hood.
Benefits of replacing the OEM pipe with FTP charge pipe

Looks interesting but I have a few questions:
1) Can you provide pictures of all the pieces not installed? I can't tell if the second half of the charge pipe goes all the way to the intercooler or attaches to the OEM part #17342D.
2) Why does the pipe stop at the top instead of just one piece going all the way to the intercooler?
2) What size is the pipe versus the OEM plastic pipe?
3) Mandrel bends? How thick is the piping?
Thank you,

I have just received a shipment for this product as I was down in LA for business meeting for the past one week. I did take a pic of the product.
2)The pipe did not stop at the top as there is also a small pipe inlet connected to the intercooler. It's a two pieces piping just like the OEM one.
3) The pipe sizes are the same as the OEM one both are 60mm in dimension
4) The thickness of the pipes are 4mm.

Thank you for the response and picture. To clarify one of my questions, I was wondering why there were two pieces rather than just one long pipe. And I forgot one question since it's not on the FTP website, what is the price?

The CARB is more for exhaust products. This product does not make any difference on the CO2 emissions. This product is making air flow better to get a better throttle response and prevent piping from cracking due to wear and tear. If you are planning to tune ECU in the future which I believe it will be out very soon I would suggest to replace the OEM piping.

If the FTP charge pipe is the same size as the OEM. How is there an increase of flow and better performance?
I like to understand this before I make a purchase.
Thanks
Ken
