Looks good Mike! I'll be there at the Pit Rally as a spectator, problem will be finding a spot to watch the race before they close the road at 8 a.m.

Nice combo with the light wheels and the stick R888s. I have seen video of people sticking things to the surface of a new R888. Insane tire

I am definitely not used to the way the R888's react. Lots of grip but they transition a little weird compared to the last track rubber with thinner sidewalls. Steering is heavier. Hill climb course was not like a track surface so looking forward to the next test day to provide feedback. Braking from 130 was no problem though. I am not sure I challenged the grip in any of the 3 runs I took yesterday. Too much risk to dial in a setup as we had a lot of alignment changes to make the taller tire work. Always a work in progress.

wasn't that impressed with the event TBH. too much downtime, myself and other spectators lost interest when there was multiple 20+ minutes of nothing going on. also didn't particularly like how they didn't do the drift stuff until 3:30. I'd think they would do that in the middle of the day or something to break up the racing and keep the viewers entertained. Once the rain started I left. hopefully they improve on it for next year.

Toyo R888s aren't the best tires at all in their class. Among the GT3 crew, they're largely avoided due to poor wear and high road noise. I've got them still left on my fronts on my GT3 and only because NT01s don't come in 265 yet.

What road noise

sounds like 44" mud tires, but they get higher pitched and louder the faster you go.

@liquidtek thanks for the pic man. The venue presents some challenges and being only its second official year there are still many things that should improve the spectator and participant experience. The pace cars present the first challenge but they are there for safety and insurance that when 200 potentially inexperienced drivers belt up there high HP cars they arrive and the top and not back at the bottom in pieces. Its absolutely frustrating to have to wait for the pace cars to return before new groups can go and they all come back at once to avoid any further delay. I for one never challenged the pace of any of the pace cars, so I don't have an ego about who is fast or not, just a new experience on mountain hwy for me which ended up being quite humbling on a surface that is not like a racetrack.

We will be working with the coordinators on both sides to make this better. I certainly want your feedback though as it helps us make a better case. If you want to message me any candid details on what you think would make things better I will fight to make it happen within reason and budget. Thanks to the shot as well. Being a driver, coordinator and sponsor (video gatherer) this year was certainly taxing on me so the post event media is my only reward at this point
