Damn! That doesn't even look like it was caused by the mounting machine. Looks like the tech just negligently banged into the wheel(s) w/ a tool.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I was there yesterday morning to drop off rims and tires to get mounted. I didn't have any issues.
I've left my rims at their shop before because my tire wasn't in stock. When it was time to mount my tires, one of the techs noticed a light scratch on one of my wheels and the owner called me to tell me just in case I wanted to get it fixed before they mounted the tire. They left that 1 rim untouched until I could come take a look at it. It ended up being a tiny scratch that was already there, but I didn't think was worth the money to fix. I'm really surprised the tech even noticed it.

714 tires quality of work has been going down lately. I took two of my cars there, and the alignment job was horrible. Uneven specs, I wrote this on a yelp review, Ly quickly reached out to me to try and fix the situation, and I really appreciated it. Just my two cents.

It's all in the timing...
The problem with complaining after it has occurred is....it has already occurred!
The wheel is now scratched and you can't just rub it out.
This can happen at any wheel shop, at any time - all it takes is a tech that does not care about your wheels as much as you do, and that pretty much is all of them.
It's the manager's job to instill in the techs some sort of respect for the wheels/customer, but they can't be everywhere, all the time.
You remember 4-Day Tire Stores? They used to have these very wordy newspaper ads about how careful they are with your car/wheels, and they still scratched my perfect wheels by not using a rag on the screwdriver when they popped off the hub caps.
I complained, but, again, the damage was already done! What could they do?
All I got was a coupon for a free alignment - that didn't make my wheels any better.
It's an awkward conversation, but the only way to get close to 100% certainty that they will be careful with your beloved wheels is to make the "Lissen, I am really fussy about my car/wheels, so PLEASE......." speech to the manager and/or tech before they work on them.
And a $5 or $10 bill placed in the tech's palm is helpful, too (but only if it's before the work starts).
None of this should be needed in a perfect world, but it's far from that.

I had my new wheels mounted with no problems, but they did scratch 2 of my OEM wheels. I know those scratches were not there before because I inspected them in the morning before heading over.

To be honest, all the years that i've gone to 714 tires i've never had this problem. The scratches can be from driving and hitting debris on the road it happens to the best of us. The face is very hard to damage changing a tire usually the damage occurs around the lip from prying bar or the center of the rim for the mounter. Even at most, if they dropped the wheel your damage will be more than just 1 scratch. You'll be surprised of the damage your wheels takes with just normal driving.

no wheel shop is perfect, even those that have touchless mounting systems. of all the years I've used 714, they've been generally very respectful of not only my own wheels/tires but other customers as well (I watched as I waited for my turn), stock or not. now every instance is different such as trying to stretch a 205 on a 10" wide wheel versus a stock tire swap. it is best that you try and explain your concerns prior to the work starting, but I get that it goes without saying that they should generally be careful in their work. any shop could use improvements so I am sure they take their customers' concerns seriously, just by hearing that they respond to yelp and such.
