Default Anyone willing to help me out???????

Hello everyone! I posted a thread about a month ago about my 13 GS350 F Sport misfiring when i do 70 mph..... i took it to 2 different lexus dealers several times n they both told me thats its my after market Wheels causin the misfire. I have 20's staggered wheels with hub centric spacers in the front only. I have contacted lexus Corporate about my issue i told them that the vehicle only started doing it right after it hit 60,000 miles n the car ran fine with my after market wheels the two years. I don't have my Stock 19' F sport wheels n i need to barrow some to test drive my car to see if it misfires when i hit 70+ MPH. Im located in Corona by riverside. Anyone in Orange county or Inland empire willing to help me out???

That's a first for me that a wheel can cause an engine misfire, find a better shop. For a Lexus dealer to say that is Did you replace the coil pack? If the coil pack was changed and this still happens, the next signal in that line is the crank or cam sensor. Those may cause intermittent P30X codes that looks like a faulty coil pack.

edit I'd also think the P305 would come up, my suspicion is the cam sensor.

My local mechanic doesn't wanna change something that might not fix the problem. Shouldn't his computer say its the coil pack bad or cam sensor is bad????

Wow, all of them. That the way it is with some parts, replacing something to determine the root causes. As precise as diagnostics are there still is a bit of hunt peck at times. This is a warranty repair and should not be any $ since the car is under 50K miles. Take it to another Lexus dealer and they should be able to read the stored codes. My suspicion is the crank sensor since all banks are throwing codes.

^^Replace crank sensors and reset ECU for a fresh firing start. Work your way through faulty plugs and ignition after if problem persists.

Lame...that is up there with the wiper blade inserts causing the seats to not recline. In that case I suggest having your trusted mechanic swap the crank sensor first.

If you cant replace with original wheels, try doing a dynamic wheel balance and try again. Excessive vibration from the wheels CAN throw misfire codes

Plenty of potential areas to check, what has been checked so far? Ignition system, harness any number of sensors, ECU. Start with the simple stuff like plugs and work back. If the ignition system is good then hunt the sensors. I've ridden-driven cars with way out of balanced tires and have not had a P30X code for misfire. Not to say the sensors cannot detect the vibration as such, I've not encountered that.

try to put on stock wheels. If your car still misfire then bring to them again, probably they gonna tell you because of your sticker

Powertrain warranty for Lexus is 6 year/70k. Id say your issue is a powertrain issue.

Excessive vibration from wheels/tires can cause the knock sensors to detect a misfire. And yes I see this at work once awhile.
