Default AWD in Southern California

Hi folks, I'm a newbie to this site and starting my journey to replace my 2007 RX. I called a dealer and was surprised to find out not many AWD sold here in Southern California. I'm thinking of purchasing an AWD for better steering control during fast excelaration or handling during the winters and drives to the mountains. Am I thinking AWD for the right reasons and can you get great deals in Southern California of this vehicle given only 10% are sold here?

welcome to clublexus~

if you actually visit the snowy areas that much in the winter time, sure awd would come in handy. but when it comes to acceleration, unless you drive crazily, awd won't get you much more. imho even for the winter time ski time, a set of good all season tires with good snow traction should be enough.

i personally don't see the need of awd in socal at all
Yes, I drove it. The great feeling of boiling blood.

It's seems luxury brands have this "me too" mentality when it comes to AWD.

Audi's "Quattro" for starters, it has be standard these days.
