I started this thread and completely forgot about it + didn't even notice it got moved to CL of SoCal! Shame...
Thanks for all the helpful posts everyone!

IntegresS - NICE photo of all the cars. How often do you guys hit the road together? I'd be interested in joining sometime.

For a guy like me who has never driven on a technical road, would you still suggest GMR and Angeles Crest? Or ease into it by driving on easier roads first? I've only been on Santiago Canyon (which I thought was boring) and Carbon Canyon, which was more fun than Santiago because of the tight turns

If you drive slow, which you should anyways with a large crew, you'll be fine with any road. Beware of other cars and motorcycles and, of course, cops.

Enjoy the scenery and the ride. These types of meets and convoys are about who you ride with, not just where you ride to.

Good advice.

I often think that I should go to these meets thinking that I should keep with everyone else, which is a flawed mindset. True, enjoying the meet and more importantly, the ride and scenery, is more important.

Don't worry about keeping up hehe I was babying my car since it only had 83 miles on it before I took it up to Angeles Crest-- I stayed in the back and if I got too far behind, the rest of the crew would just pull off into a turnout and wait for me

I'll post in here the next time we set something up-- and I'll be sure to check this thread for other cruise meetups that I can join

For those interested in hitting up Palomar, Clownshoes from the ISF forum is hosting a run next Saturday.

More information here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...th-feeler.html

Of course, all cars welcome.

I see lots of thumbs ups for Angeles Crest so I'll put that one down for to-hit-up list

In terms of Ortega, I just keep hearing bad things about it, which discourages me from trying it out; e.g. heavy negative press, friend involved in accident there, etc.

I've pretty much "mastered" Santiago Canyon Rd area (along with Modjeska Grade, Live Oak, Silverado). Today was my 3rd or 4th time so a little tired of it but planning on going again this weekend. Well, time to branch out and try new roads too!

How about the drive to mammoth? I like desert. Especially sunset. Or joshua tree.
