Default Irvine hiking/walking trails

Wife and friend want to do some mild walking trails in and around the Irvine area. I've been looking at Irvine's site of parks and Yelp reviews.
http://www.irlandmarks.org/Explore/default.aspx

Also open to Newport, Corona Del Mar etc.

Info overload.
Basically:

1. 1-2 mile loop, 3 at most.
2. Low to moderate intensity level.
3. Some shade available.
4. Nice views.
5. Safe.

Somebody suggested Fullerton Arboretum though it may not have the distance, it is a pretty place. We drove along upper Newport Bay but the Mrs. didn't seem as thrilled. Suggestions?

They have a place called Turtle Rock. Been there once but don't have much info for you. Try searching it.

I do field work in the Fullerton arboretum. I'm pretty sure its not what you are looking for.

Aliso Woods in Laguna is awesome - we hike/bike there all the time and when you get to the top there are awesome views of the beach - im attaching a link to OC's parks website and a trail map of Aliso Woods - there are ALWAYS plenty of people here and there are many many different trails for you to explore and for different comfort level (not steep / very steep) which ever trails you pick you are in for a fun day!

also if you want to get out of OC, here is some info on hiking to the "Hollywood Sign" in los angeles. It's a little longer but not that hard of a hike. It takes about 3 hours or so with breaks. The view is really cool and you will pass the Batcave from the old Batman TV show! Pretty cool. Not many people can say they have done this hike, but there are usually around 100 hikers on the trail on the weekends. heres the info.

There's also Irvine park where you can do some mild hikes. It's called Santiago Oaks. Near Jamboree and Chapman. Also could try Peters Canyon. Turtle Rock does have a little trail that circles near the top of it... kinda. It's not that great. But there's a lot of great outdoor space in Irvine.
