Hi All,

Long time lurker and finally I have the opportunity to mod my IS .

I just moved to LA a year ago and was wondering if anyone had any shops they could recommend for a paint job. I already spent time searching but came up with nothing.

Sorry for the nub question...but to my understanding I'm supposed to install the kit THEN have it painted right? Just wanted to make sure since this is the first mod I've done (besides red outs ).

Dunno about any places around downtown LA, but you wanna have the lip painted OFF the car and just install it after. Unless your having the front bumper painted at the same time as the lip to "blend" it, than you can have the lip on the car. Front lips are usually painted off the car though.

take it to PlatinumVIP,

you want the lip kit to match the color of the car, which is sometime hard to achieve because original car color fades. That's why you want to take it to someone who truly cares about the quality and craftsmanship

i also need some work done....how much does she normally charge for a rear kit, what type of paint does she use? or maybe i should just call her. lol
