Default So cal potholes suck! Rim gurus chime in!

So i was on the 15 south, around corona, hit a massive pothole. funny thing is, the rim/tire didnt let go until i got off the freeway and made a turn. so far 2 guys local say they can repair it but not sure if i should just spend the money and rebarrel these. ive gotten a quote to repair this one by welding and resurfacing for 200. rebarrelling for 900 for a pair of wheels. the rebarrell seems slightly high in price. wheel gurus please chime in, i need the repair this asap. located in so cal. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

haha well, im on a 19x9 +19 in front, 225/35/19 stretched slightly in achilles tires. i was actually in traffic just south of dos lagos. u ever seen the small stretch of freeway with potholes there? it was crazy. i was going about 30mph. felt a little vibration afterwards so i got off the freeway. turned the steering wheel right to make turn and psssshhhh tire deflated. went to get the jack out, couldnt fit the stock jack so i had to have a buddy bring some 2x4s and was able to get the wheel off. after removing the wheel i saw the split in the barrell. i ride pretty low tucking all tire just about hitting the lip. never had problems for the last 1.5 years with this set up. then bam i hit that one pothole and all hell broke loose. ive been crying since hahahaha

I say rebarrel them if possible. My brother weld his rims and after a couple of months it would crack and recrack.

I believe Son only repairs crubage and paint.. i haven't kept up with him for a year or two so i am not 100% best to double check though

i really like the wheels. i even got rid of my vienna kreis for these. i would love to rebarrell these but i dont think investing that much money is worth it. i figured, if i can have them repaired so i can daily these wheels, i would be happy. and maybe later get another set of clean wheels. so far i like the fitment, and the look. i just need to find someone reliable local to repair these without rebarrelling.

if u want, i can refer u to awdalbert. he did my rear pull on my sc when i had it. i dont have a roller...i shaved my fenders myself front and rear at work. no need to pay for an easy job like that. but if u want it done by someone that does it all day everyday, then awdalbert i would say is the person to go to.

He went to a couple of places, vr-wheels and others i forgot. No your crack is severe. His was a hairline crack. It would last around 3 months or sometimes more.
