Default Nisei week car show.... Reg is open but... $60+ to register??

i love this show and have respect for Ken for keeping it alive year after year.... but What The ****???

$63 to register?? since when is it ok to charge over 60 dollars to enter a car show that relies on our cars to drive their tix sales and attendance...??

IMO $40-$50 MAX is the limit any entrant should have to pay to provide the attraction (IE: the Cars!) that drives attendance at these shows....

there is something fundamentally wrong to me about charging entrants what is now a 30% premium over the average show for the chance to win a trophy when the entrants vehicles are the only reason ANYONE comes to the show and pays to attend at all??......what is wrong with this picture ?

Am i alone in thinking that we have somehow crossed a line here...? its not really about the cash as it is the principle, next it wil lbe 65.00 then 70.00 then 75.00 to enter a car show .... i'm strugglign to see if that is worth it & makes any sense....and where does it stop?

Seriously reconsidering my plan to register for this show now n principle alone .... 2 years ago there was a chance of rain & NO ONE CAME to the show it was a huge bust more entrants than attendees... yet still many of us supported Ken again with the Mega MAtsurei show a WEEK later... only to now have the entry fee jump 20 bux?

I dunno man...

Rant over

110% agree .... $63 is alot of money however you look @ it !! I'm sure they have their reasons and "fees" which they have to take care of due to this event, yet YEAH..... I guess time changes... from $35 to $63 now... *$35 was AWHILE back in when !!!

Well... FWIW, i sent Ken a message about this ...

I dont have a real problem with the change of vene...a Downtown parking lot is a parking lot whether it is on one side of the cultural festival or the other...

I know everythign is more expensive so i sort of understand and have paid $40-$45 bux +- to enter but the jump to $63.50 is just a bit much for a show that has been faltering for the last 3-4 years not to mention the usual issues with show judging and classes etc...

I dunno... if he bothers to respond and he is pretty good about that .. i will consider it.... but only if i can show with a couple of friends etc, not much fun showing alone and many of the cars there are regulars each year.... not much NEW.....
