So the NBC news van rear ended our 08 Crystal White Pearl RX350. A new rear bumper and tail gate is needed. Where is the best place to take it, to get it repaired CORRECTLY the first time? I have many bad experiences in the past and I don't want to waste my time. I figured Longo Collision would do it right since they are right next to Lexus Service. Correct me if I'm wrong. I just want a competent shop to match the white pearl paint because I know that its gonna be hard. Besides the paint, after the accident, the passenger occupancy sensor seems to be malfunctioning because I'm sitting in it and the airbag light is off. That is another reason I want to take it to Longo Collision so Lexus can diagnose that problem. Thanks.

Thanks, I always search first. Those threads are over 5 years old. I wanted to see if anyone have recent experiences. Businesses can improve over time. I'm thinking they are better now since most reviews are bad reviews of people ranting and I haven't really seen negative reviews as of late. I just had them in mind for the convenience of Lexus Service right next door.

Hahah ok, very true that businesses can change overtime. Just saw this on Longo's Facebook page btw as of April 28th...

Sorry to say this but only on-site Lexus dealer body shops can be certified by Lexus USA to be a Certified Lexus Collision Repair Facility. If a shop claims to be Lexus Certified and they are not inside the property of an authorized Lexus dealer, they're NOT.

I'm not sure if this holds true in Los Angeles. I have a BMW and they outsourced a body shop as their Certified shop. I dont see many dealerships in L.A. with body shops inside the property.

Same holds for BMW across the United States. You can have trained technicians that have certification to work on BMW but that doesn't make the whole body shop a BMW certified. In order to be a BMW Certified Collision or Repair shop is if that facility is owned by an authorized BMW dealership. Same goes for Lexus and Toyota. There are plenty of dealerships that don't have their own body shop, but they sublet the work out to a "preferred" repair facility. Just because the dealer sends out the work doesn't mean they are factory BMW certified.

i had my front end repainted like 2 months ago. they redid the hood, fenders, refinished the bumper. the paint looks good only issue is some buffer trails which i expected since they arent going to have professional quality detailers. i can fix myself as i have all of the supplies anyways...just so lazy.

true, we are not a "certified Lexus Repair Shop", but we are certified in what we do and back our work with our LIFETIME warranty. We are a priority collision center for most major insurance companies. I have to say, 9 out of 10 cars that are here being worked on are Lexus.
