Boiling Crab is a must try. Get their shrimp. I always do 2lbs of that. Lots of hotties working in there as well..
I heard much about mario's and how legit their peruvian is but have not tried it yet =\
Also, if oyu like noodles like me. TRY out Mien Nghia Noodle Express below.

Just went there today while driving back up to norcal. It' my second time there. First time, I drove 1 hour to eat there and then come back. I'd do it again. =)
SD has
hodads ( Bacon burgers)
phils bbq ( BBq ahha)
SGV
Savoy one of the best hinan chicken
JJ's Cafe ( Hongkong style)
Lyl Garden (go during lunch every plate is like $5, best fried fish!)
Ruth Chris ($$$$ 50 dollar steaks, but its freaking good)
LA
Red Hot Kitchen ( Korean / Mexican mix)
Orochon ( Ramen )
Miyako sushi ( ACYE sushi for $25, really good cuts not too much rice)

oh man. I'm writing some of these places down, n I live in LA. How embarrassing is that.
Miyako's is good stuff. All you can eat place. Definitely a place to go to if you enjoy eating sushi. Wished they offered half rolls though so I can try all the different rolls they have. Order the LOVE ROLL when u get there.
Road to Seoul is a great Korean BBQ place. A bit noisy, but that is typical at every Korean BBQ place that I've been to so far.
Boiling crab is meh. I don't understand how people love this place so much. The lines are also ridiculously long. Wait time is usually about 1 hr.
I'd also suggest -
Daikokuya - Legit Ramen place. If you are in the mood for ramen, definitely check this place out. Will cost you $30 - $40 for 2 people. There are always people waiting outside, but the average wait time is 15-30 min
Hama Sushi - Fresh sushi. Only sushi though, don't go in ordering teriyaki chicken or tempura.
Mastro's Steakhouse - Located in Beverly Hills. Get the cowboy ribeye cut and thank me later. It is a bit pricey, but if you want to spoil yourself, go there!

If your in the Santa Monica area you should try out Rock Sugar (Asian Fusion food) it's pretty damn good and the place looks amazing.

P.S. If anyone needs a date spot in LA, this is a good option!

wow. it looks really good KillaIS250! I bookmarked it on my Yelp. ahahaha
I'd also check out Geoffrey's. It's in Malibu.

It's a pretty good spot to take a date too. There are lots of seats that face the ocean and the females dig that sort of romantic kind of stuff.

Road to Seoul i will have to try that since i've been craving kbbq! . The place i usually go to is Odae-San it was really good now its becoming eh.
I agree BC is not that great, everytime i eat there couple of hours later i get a headache from all the oil i've consumed. They charge you 50 cents for water i believe. The wait isn't worth it, but you should try it at least once

hey sc300jz. I've tried BC and I was over it right when I walked out of the place. If I were to go back I would just get the catfish n chips n that is it. The rest of the stuff is just smothered in too much butter / oil.
Miyako's is the only place I know where you can order chinese food from next door n have it served to you at the sushi bar. Its kind of odd, but that is freaking awesome!!!! Way better than Midori too.
oh yah, you should also try out Sushi Moon. Its all you can eat sushi for $20 (lunch / dinner). They close at 9 PM, but me n my gf stayed there till 10 and they kept serving us sushi. Really nice folks that run the place. Only 1 chef making the sushi, so the food may come a bit slow if there are other people in the restaurant.

Miyako's for sushi.
Phil's BBQ for bbq.
Road to Seoul for kbbq.
Boiling Crab for some shrimp & stuff but eh, I'd rather make it at home like a boss.
Red Hot Kitchen for burrito/chimichangas cause Kogi's is overrated.
FooFooTei for some nanchatte ramen
Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles for chicken & waffles!
All I can think of atm

If you're traveling with a significant other and need a nice romantic restaurant, i recommend The Little Door in Los Angeles. It's a little pricey, but the food and service are excellent .

I have a couple more recommendations for you:
Seafood: Newport Tan Cang Seafood Restaurant in San Gabriel (Lobster...yum...)
Sushi: Restaurant Komasa in Little Tokyo
BBQ: Tahoe BBQ in K-town
Soju and small plates: Heu in K-town
Burger: Umami Burger
Desserts: Syrup in Downtown LA
Half and Half tea house (not sure if you count boba drinks as desserts)
As for feedbacks...
I live a block from one of the Boiling Crab spots. Good stuff, but prepare for long wait for your table. Da Whole Shabang flavor is the bomb!
Gyu-kaku has various happy hour specials throughout the day (except dinner time).
Enjoy your LA trip!
