Looking for a good mechanic. Someone who will not cut corners and takes pride in their work.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

R1 Motor
Ask for Raymond, he owns a IS250 himself.

While not work done, I've dynoed my car at R1 Motors twice. He's never worked on my car, but it seems like a well run operation. I guess the only critique I have is that he seems (unless I'm wrong) the only mechanic since I've been there a few times to dyno, export my files, etc.. and he's the only one there.

No work needs to be done yet.

Just looking for a good mechanic for all the regular maintenance stuff and any else more serious that may show up later.

Just wanted to see if I can save a few bucks and avoid dealerships for simple stuff like oil changes.

Or should I just stick with dealerships? If so, who is the best? Longo? Glendale?

Thanks.

I took my previous cars to Firestone in Alhambra on Main Street for simple stuff like oil changes, never had a problem there and it was pretty quick. I'd do it myself, but I live in an apartment so I don't have any room.

Raymond is the only mech and owner of R1 Motors. He has been my mech for the past 8 years of my life. He has done 80% of my work on all my cars from routine maintence to engine swaps. He is honest and his shop will be slammed with cars to get worked on that should tell you if hes good or not. =)

Sometimes hes pricey but he backs his work and will stay open late to fix your car. I seen him there til 8pm sometimes. My whole SC 2jzgte motor was built and swapped by him. My engine bay looks OEM.
