For everyone that has gone to california tint:
How clean were the cuts at the top of the window? Did it go all the way to the edge, was it all even?
I did my g35 there a while back and it was VERY sloppy. I hated rolling down my windows because i would have to look at the amateur job they did.
With that being said, I need to tint my GS. So i'm trying to decide if i should give them another try

I got my tints done at California Tint two years ago, and the cuts at the top of the windows are pretty even. it doesn't go all the way to the edge, but it gets close enough. The cut at the bottom of the window is a little uneven, but its not noticeable unless you really pay attention to it. No problems with the tint so far.

California Tint or Song's Tint Masters. I would personally recommend both of these fellows. Songs do infact cost more. But they carry Ceramics.
I will always recommend Peter @ California Tint. I knew Peter for approx 9 years. We just tinted the IS300 at California Tint this past Saturday. Just FYI, He DOES carry Madico, but he does not advertise it. His mainstream products are Johnson due to the lower costs. We installed Madico Black Onyx on the IS300, IT IS a Metallic based tint. No drop in reception at all, same applies for my IS350, it also has Madico Black Onyx tinted by Song's Tint Masters.
They did a wonderful job on the IS300, the cuts were perfect. Looks exactly like my IS350 which was done by Hann @ Song's.

Steve's Tinting in Upland
After doing extensive research of what tint to get, I finally decided to go with the Formula 1 Pinnacle series tint. I couldn't justify the price difference for Huper Optik for the entire car. I ended up getting 35% front/15% rear/50% front windshield blue air.
It hasn't been extremely hot these days but I do notice that the temperature inside the cabin has dropped. The leather seats no longer scorch my skin and the seat belt clip doesn't sear into your skin. Don't get me wrong, it isn't perfectly cool after being in the sun all day but it is much better than having no tint at all.
My AC is definitely running a lot less and is more efficient with the tint on. Normally I would blast the AC for several minutes then put it to 75 once it cools down. Today, I didn't touch the AC and had it at 77 and was comfortable all the way home.
I drove my car all the way to Upland to Steve's Tinting off of W. Foothill Blvd. I got there around 10 and left around 1:30 (to be fair there was another car being tinted when I arrived). I watched Steve the entire time and he is very meticulous with what he does. I'm still waiting for the tint to cure but first impressions are good so far. I made the drive because he beat the competitors quotes w/o even haggling.
Sorry for the poor quality/angle of the pictures, I didn't have much room to work with and it is taken w/ my iPhone. I'm happy with the combination I got, what does everyone else think?

Indoors, I thought the 15% was too dark at first but it is fine during the day. They also offer 5% if you want it really dark. 15% hasn't had much effect on my visibility.

Don't want to be debbie downer but just be careful on how dark you go in the front windows I just got a fix it ticket for the fronts..Cops told me there are crackn' down...Just giving you all a head up...

From what I was told from my tint place. Front is not allow, But having 35% in the front you can probably get away with it. Some cop let you slide because is hard to tell if its tinted or what not.
My front is at 30% rear is 5%
My front is at 30% rear is 5%

Yes the cop told me "NO TINT WHAT SO EVER ON THE FRONT WINDOWS" but yes a light tint you might get away with...I may put on a light tint just to give it something since my 2 rear window are like limo..I bought the car with the tint on it so i don't know what the % is?
Also a factor is how much your car is modded as well, wheels a drop anything that's gonna draw attention may make the cops pull you over.. A stock IS with just tint prob get away with it more..
