Hey guys, quick question on selling my car. Do the license plates stay with the car or the seller in Cali? I am pretty sure the license plates stay with the car, but could not find a definite answer on the DMV website. I've only lived in Cali for about a year so I'm a little confused. In NY, when you sell a car, you remove the plates and the buyer gets new ones, but I think I read in Cali you don't do this?

The plates go with the car. Unless you buy it from a dealer without plates, then you'll have to order new ones.
