Angeles.Crest, looks like a good run.

Last month I did a run from Wrightwood to where the road was closed to Glendora, and we hoped to make it all the way to the Angeles Crest but the Station fire had closed to connection. In the spring I plan to make the run again this time all the way, will have to wait and see.

Check the link below. Those roads make for some good driving.

I was really happy to read about this earlier in the week. Angeles Crest is truly one of my favorite places on Earth.

It is a fun road to drive. It's good news for the 2 ski resorts up there, if they haven't been destroyed by the fire.

Me and some friends used to frequent that highway on those cold Friday night meets a few years ago, we would hit up the In & Out in Glendale late night afterwards...Those were some cool times! I stopped going when I heard that a mutual acquaintance was killed in a car crash out there.

A group of friends just went up and told me that there is a lot of rock debris due to the high speed winds, la canada has had this past weekend. So be careful if you decide to go anytime soon.

yeah but the main question is do the ricers that can't drive still hang out there like they used to? I haven't been there since a friend got hit head on by a guy who couldn't control his car and slammed into his motorcycle head on....and haven't been there since...

The last few times I've been up there, there's hardly been anyone - but I do avoid the "heavy traffic" times, like Saturday mornings. There are TONS of cyclists and motocyclists riding then, so you really have to be careful when taking the blind turns. Oh, and yes there is a good amount of debris, so be more careful than usual. Dammit, now I'm itching to go for a drive and I'm stuck at work for another 10 hours.

I enjoy the canyon myself but for me it's a enjoyable cruise nobody gets a prize/trophy for being the fastest on the crest. I may go for an afternoon cruise on Sat. now that i know it's open again.

Javy,

Me too, oh I almost forgot we took yesterday off and had some spirited fun on Ortega Hwy.

We do have to do a run together some time.
