Considering that the HIV/AIDS virus is at least 20 years old, we have not seen any changes in the virus since then. Mutation as in multiplication of the virus is spreading the virus? Or, were you referring to the resistance of the virus to certain antibiotics such as the MRSA and VRE?

Funny, there is more interest in philips hypothesis than the OP. Thread hijack at its best. BTW, HIV should not be airborne in 50 years. It is blood born (fluids) as is Hep C which has been around 1000s of years and has not yet mutated. If by chance it becomes airborne then we wont have to worry too too much about over population of planet earth
