I think he was talking about nisei week.
They have so much security up in J-town now. I went to the Nishi Buddhist temple's obon (big temple off of first street) and there were a lot of private security as well as police patrolling the area.

wow neisei week? i remember back in the days when a close friend of mine at the time we did security for the neisei girls since his parents were the judges, event coordinator, etc... varies from yr to yr. anyhow after the event everyone in the committee (including the neisei girls) would be invited back to his parents house which has a pool and have a after party to say thanks.
my friend and i being the gentlemen that we were would mess with the girls and throw them into the pool, of course the girls got mad but we just tell them its a tradition LOL and those that didnt get mad....... well
hahahaha
oh and btw his parents are the owners of mikiwaya(sp) can we say free MOCHI ICE CREAM!!
but now since hes locked up (idiot) i have to buy them at the store
