Default Toyota Employee Discount...How to??

MY uncle works for a Toyota dealership in Texas.
But he can't get me a discount at a Toyota dealership in Los Angeles area.

He said he can get me a discount if I buy in Texas then drive the car back to Los Angeles, but I know the DMV here in Cali will screw me.

IS there a form which Toyota can send me which will allow me to get the employee discount?

Thanks,
UZY

Ultimately, there is no form for you.

There are forms for Toyota employees.

And typically, these discounts can be applied only for the employee, their spouse, their children, and their parents only. No cousins, no aunts/uncles, no nieces/nephews, no grandchildred, etc.

There is no rule with the employee buying it themselves then transferring the title to you. However, you may run into transfer fees, sales tax (it may be done twice: once to your uncle, then another time to you), etc.

There may be local dealerships that will aknowledge employee discounts for Toyota employee family members. With those discounts, people can get a car at about $500-$1000 over invoice.

I thought there was a stipulation that the employee had to keep it for sometime before transferring the title over, not that they can really keep track of it. This prevents them from making money off of new cars.

well they can BUY the car.. and give it to you as a "gift" so there is no sales tax.. and you basically pay under the table :]
