Anytime you work with children or minors, the employer is required to do a background check and ten card your prints for record. My friends working at TLC had the whole nine yards done.

But how are those hours part time? do they only need you like 2 or 3 days a week?

I wouldn't mind doing this...

What days do you have to do it. And you said part time, but do you have to work those full 8hr shifts? Can you define "part-time" ?

Yeah. I was just curious as to if you had to work the full 8hr shift. Also what and how many days, etc...

Ok guys, I'll try to answer all of your questions/PM's in one shot:

1. It's part-time because you work only 1 or 2 shifts at a time. Each shift is a full 8 hours. So sometimes, you'll work only 1 day out of the week, sometimes you work 2+. It just depends on your availability.

2. You will have to do what they call a live scan (background check) because you're working with kids. So if you have a record of any sort, sorry, this job isn't for you.

This job is cool in that it's pretty flexible and you can pick up various shifts when other field workers are not available. I have to warn you guys that it's pretty boring because all you do is sit around and watch the kids watch tv or play pool/board games in the rec room. So if you can withstand boredom, you can handle this job.

With that said, here's how you apply. Call Casa Youth Shelter at: (714) 995-8601. Tell them that you're interested in applying for the Field Worker position. The person picking up the phone will refer you to someone else and once you talk to that person to set up an interview, be sure to tell them that Kari sent you.

If any of you end up going in for an interview, pls PM me ahead of time to give me a heads up so that when they ask me, I can vouch for you. And since I'm vouching for people that I don't know, please only consider this job if you're serious!!

I hope I've answered everyone's questions. And for those of you that PM'd me, I hope I've answered your questions as well in this post. Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

ps. For those that get hired, I get a $50 bonus which I will split 50/50 with you. After staying on for 6 months, they will pay me another $50 and again, I will split that 50/50 so anyone that gets hired can stand to get $50 total in addition to getting a job.

Nicely answered

So the schedule is flexible as long as you can work the full 8hr shift? Cuz I am only free Mon, Wed, Fri for those hours this quarter. But next quarter things might change, etc also depending on my other job. Some weeks I can probably work all my free days, the full day I have nothing to do. But other weeks I may be only able to work 1 day out of the week, etc. Is this a Mon-Fri thing only, or are they open weekends too?

Lastly how is the parking situation? Do we park our cars in a safe/visible place? Is the driveway lowered car friendly?
