Default Good Detailer

I've had my is350 for about a year now and I think it's about time I should get it detailed.. Does anyone know any good detailers around the Southern California area? If so, what's the going rate for getting a car detailed? Thank you.. I appreciate it..

Well, the guy I mentioned above seems to do everything.

Including the clay bar treatment.

Isn't that what detailing is about ? Getting everything cleaned?

From my experience on the Meguiars car care detail forums, you usually use a dish washing liquid to strip off the old wax on your car. SO wash you car with dish washing liquid. After than get the Meguiars Clay Bar kit which comes with quick detailer. Just follow the directions and all the surface contaminants will be gone. If you see swirls, use the scratch/swirl remover. Then you can use a cleaner wax, followed another type of wax before you apply the coat of either nxt wax or touch of gold if you have a black car.

This process will not eliminate swirl marks as good as using a machine with the proper compounds, but it helps alot.

Pssh, Seniors have it easy
Being a Junior is a different story

Usually Detailing involves:
Wash, clay, swirl removal, polish, wax/sealant, underbody powerwashing, dressing all rubber, cleaning the windows, wheel well cleaning and dressing, wheel/tire degreasing and polishing.
Interior: vacume, carpet shampooing, dusting the air vents, cleaning all surfaces and dressing rubber and plastic parts, leather conditioning,

Default Just got detailed today!

I just got mine's done today at Unique hand wash and auto detailing at the Metro Pointe parking structure down in Costa Mesa next to the edwards theater - place right next to South Coast Plaza off Fairview/405.

The owner's name is Vic and he hooks it up big. I got the full service detailing: wash, wax, clay bar, interior shampoo, mats, wheels, engine cleaning...and on top of that he also cleaned up my headlights for a few bucks more. I paid him $180 for all that including tip.

He is especially good at removing swirls on black cars. He did an amazing job...my paint feels like that of my 335i. Lots of bimmer owners from e90 forums use him, that is how I found him. His prices are very good - see post for brochure pricing. I just dropped off my car and he took me to South Coast, shopped for a few hours and my car was ready. Check out the pics and see for yourself.

His number is 714.580.7146. Tell him Danny with the blue lexus sent ya.
