I'm looking to get some HIDs installed at a shop in Orange County, CA. I don't want to mess around with trying to do it myself so can someone recommend me a good shop? Also, what is a ballpark estimate for install time? I have an '06 IS 350. Thanks!

honestly, this was the first mod i ever installed myself and its really very easy. If i were you this would be a good mod to get your hands dirty with.

Actually, the problem I'm having is that I had a friend install mine. They worked great for 3 months or so, now my left one is out after I noticed it flickering a bit last night. I think when he installed them he either removed or didn't drill a hole in the dust covers. At this point, I don't want that guy touching my car again, I just want to get it fixed right. I figured the dealership can't help even if I pay them (is this right?) Also, I might need new dust covers if they aren't there. I've accepted that the HID kit might be ruined and I'm trying to decide if I should go back to the dealership and just have them rip it out and put factory non-HIDs in or if I should go to a shop and let them deal with it. I'm just not sure what type of shop to look for. There surely are plenty that could do it in Orange County, I just don't know where to begin looking.

Also, FWIW, when he install them he did initially have a problem with one light always working and not the other. I think the problem was that the wiring wasn't making a connection. I suppose it's possible the wiring came lose? Just looking for advice on what to do, and I don't have the know-how or desire to try and do it myself. Just trying to get it fixed ASAP because I will need to drive at night before too long.

Do a search on Alpha tint. I got mine installed for 60 and so far it's flawless for 11 months. GL

I found the thread...thanks. So should I just take mine "as is" and see if they can help me out? Also, do you know if they carry any kits in stock just in case mine is dead? Lastly what about the dust covers, just in case I don't have them anymore...easy to get at Lexus dealership? Thanks!

its actually 80 bux. got mines installed about 2 months ago. great job done and great guy to talk to when he does the installation. very knowledgable and i was the 12th IS hes done the HID installation on. did it within an hour and 30 mins too. highly recommended and clean work since he knows where to reroute the wires and place the ballasts.

Another vote for Alpha Tint. Zero problems, awesome install...

check your fuses? You should have replaced the fuses to one with a higher amp rating. Your ballast might be faulty..depending on the quality of your kit.

everything depends on the kit you bought. mine took 5-10 mins to install and works great. 0 problems ever. what brand did you get?
