It will be very difficult to find photography passes. The people that have access to such a privilage has had contracts with the Grand Prix for over 30 years.
Good luck and tell me if you find a way. I live in one of the condos beside the track, so I too would love to get a closer look if possible.

You can usually find me at the Toyota Hospitality Tent up on the top floor of the Aquarium/Plaza parking lot.

nothing to offer here either as far as photo credentials go. But if you go on Friday:
1) It's free
2) less of a crowd
3) better access to trackside viewing areas that are unobstructed (sightlines) for shooting the action.

You gave me a wink? does that mean photo pass?
Yes, I was planning on going Free day Friday. Friday is the best day to go if you don't like crowds.

ok. i'm working on my pass right now, and unfortunately do not have access for any extras. no discounts are given either at these things.
byron, what i do recommend is to go on friday, early in the AM. about 8am. if you don't do anything stupid, then the yellowjackets will be fine with you. walk all around the track. and find spots. last year i had a photo pass, but some of the best shots were taken up at the mai tai bar balcony.
also, you can purchase a "super photo pass" here: http://longbeachgp.com/tickets/superphoto.php
you can even get in the pit area! goodluck. i'll be the yound hapaboy walking around with canon gear.
byron, maybe you can get someone from CL to back you for a real photo pass? just say you are shooting for our website. the deadline is MARCH 23RD!
