Default The 10 freeway and the new carpool lanes extended

Who sits in traffic on the 10 like I do every day? Have you guys noticed that the new carpool lanes didn't help the traffic but made it worst?? Why did they spend all that money and about 4 years to make the freeway traffic worst than what it already was before??

I know what you mean. They added a carpool TRANSITION at the 55/405. The strangest part was before they open it up and made the left most lane carpool again, traffic was really moving on the 55s. I am still wondering how this relieves traffic. Am I missing something here?

I believe they extended the carpool from montclair to pomona. I might be wrong, haven't been that way in a while.

i believe they extended it starting from baldwin/santa anita exit.

Well, the project was somewhat good for me since i exit peck rd. north.

They made an extra lane where i can cut off all the traffic by enterting the lane to exit for peck rd south which is connected to peck rd. north.

The carpool lane going East used to end at Baldwin ave. but they now extended it to where the 10 to the 605 transition is. On 10 West, the carpool lane used to start by Temple City blvd but now starts a little west of the 605/Durfee exit.... traffic has been so bad.. i enjoy working overtime until 8-9 so I don't have to sit in traffic on the way home!!

Rick, that's SoCal lingo. We put "the" in front of freeway names. In Northern Cal, they don't do that. They just say, 101, 880, 680, 5, etc...

Haha, I didn't know it was "SoCal lingo," I say "the ___" because there's only 1 of each freeway.

Yeah, I know. I thought the same thing and when I went to college and met a bunch of students from NorCal, they didn't say "the 5" etc. and they kind of made a big deal out of the fact that those of us from SoCal did.

We have too many freeways and highways here in CA. No freeway/highway route here in CA has the same numbered freeway either state highway, interstate or US highway routes. Since we have so many freeway/highway designations, no reason to call it I-10 or I-5 or I-710. It's pointless. We have the oldest and first freeways in the United States. It was all born here. Even printed highway signs you see on the road were all inventions of the Automobile Club of Southern California and the California State Automobile Association...which later evolved into what everyone knows nationwide as AAA. Heck even the term Highway Patrol (which was really the roadside assistance program that later evolved into the development of the California Highway Patrol) was first coined by the AutoClub of SoCal.

Haha...well we call the 10 other names like Santa Monica Fwy or San Bernardino Fwy.

In Texas they call the 10, IH-10 as in Interstate Highway 10. Every state or region has their own terminology for this federally funded pavement.

I've been on the 10 Freeway from end to end several times.
