Default Stalled on H-1

Don't know what's wrong with my 2GS. In the middle lane ewa bound around 4pm and my car hesitates when I accelerate. Was lucky enough to crawl to the shoulder between the P.C. offramp & onramp near Sears Dist. Center.

I got the car towed home and bumming over this problem. Anyone know of a good reputable mechanic in Waipahu? Do you know if a parts store would rent an ODBII?

Mahalo for your help!

What is your dash reading? Do you have CEL? What else lights up?

Pat....that was you? I didn't recognize your ride....lookin good bro.

I have access to an OBDII scanner.

I had same issue but luckily I was home....car hesitates and stalls....try cleaning your air filter, MAF sensor and throttle body first. If still hesitates/stalls, check your coil packs and spark plugs...maybe gotta replace.

I was lucky....replacing my spark plugs did the trick.

CEL came on...VSC, ABS and other VSC has been on since I damaged the speed sensor while adjusting the coilovers 5 months ago. I've been reading about similar problems that range from a throttle position sensor to the trans being bad. What I really need is to get the codes but don't have the scanner because I can't drive it somewhere.

While I was waiting for the tow truck I saw you coming up and recognized your body kit. I had a feeling it was you. Can you help me retrieve the codes or do you know how I can get a scanner?

Sorry I missed your call. I called a friend and he and his friend will stop by with a scanner.

I can't believe bad spark plugs will shut down a luxury car. I'm crossing my fingers that my problem won't cost too much to repair.

I don't know of any recall regarding this problem. They should recall the lower ball joints since a lot of 2GS owners have this issue. Thanks for your help.

Bad plugs in any car will shut it down. My gf's car is having similar problems. changing the plugs helped ALOT. It doesnt do it all the time, but once in a while so, looks like ill be checking the MAF, TB, and sensors. Thanks for the INFO pete

Pete...thanks for the offer. I got a code P1121 and will need a throttle position sensor and may change the mass air flow sensor also. Hopefully my friend at Lexus can order tomorrow. Thanks again!

Agreed sounds like spark plug problem, I would suggest using NGK "Laser Platinum".

Ok try this if you have a gs300. Stand over your driver side fender. Look right over the top of the strut down toward the engine. Look for 2-10mm bolts that has brown with black stripe wires and the other has white with black stripe.
You need to make a wire to connect to both bolts and then a wire from one of those bolts to the battery NEGATIVE. Your making a better ground for the engine and computer. This helped a few friends of mine.

Howzit Pete...my friend works in the parts dept. at Servco Lexus. He spoke to several techs who suggest changing the throttle motor because that's what most 2GS' come in for. Although the code of P1121 showed I should replace the accelerator pedal position sensor, I'll go w/ what they suggest.

The part wasn't in stock and hopefully it'll arrive soon. If that doesn't solve my problem I'll need to change either that sensor or the TPS. I'll let you know.
