Here it is, the biggest cruise and charity event of the year for car enthusiasts. Over 30 car clubs, over 300+ people and cars, and its for a great cause, during a time that people could use it. Our annual Toys 4 Tots cruise will be held on November 28 (Saturday). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the meeting, but Will of Pimplux was kind enough to share some of the information that was discussed.

Request the day off, tell your SO/wives about it and get a "pass", and our mainland counterparts should plan their vacations to make this one (ok, let's not get carried away

).

Toys 4 Tots Car Club Charity Event
Date: 11/28/09, Saturday

8:00am - CL Members meet at Airport Starbucks (Paiea St)
9:00am - CL Members roll to Keehi State Park
10:30am - Official Toys 4 Tots Meetup
11:15am - Base passes dstributed (see Todd, aka tod071, aka TrendyTodd for passes)
11:30am - Leave Keehi Park to MCBH (Marine Corp Base Hawaii), Kaneohe Bay

Additional Details:
You have to show up at Keehi, you cannot meet us at the base, the reason being that they will be handing out the passes to get on base @ Keehi. When we arrive, we will be @ Hangar 1. I've been told that there also is no shade so we may want to bring a tent so we don't die. Marine base said they will be organizing food and music as well. I thought was pretty cool that it was the Marine Base General that is backing the toys for tots program this year.

Expecting everybody to be properly able to go on base, they don't check recon, but they will check license, registration, and safety check I believe.

In addition there will be a show and shine, no trophies will be awarded though, and also a raffle, so if you have anything to donate to the raffle they are accepting stuff as well.

TO MAKE THINGS SIMPLE (had some confusion last year), I WILL GET THE PASSES TO GET ON BASE FROM THE ORGANIZER AT 11:15. Even if you have a base sticker, it is STRONGLY recommended you take a T4T pass.

For the new guys, last yr we had one of the 'larger' club turnouts, lets see if we can do it again this yr.

I'll be there I also posted this on the Audi forum to get the word out to the guys super early so they can't say the notice wasn't out early enough. Hopefully our turn out is better than last year.

bring your detailing gear to the kmart parking lot, i always hear excuses as to why someone couldnt clean the car, well last yr one guy wiped down his car at 4am/i wiped down in the lot... this is the THE CRUISE of the yr for all the clubs on oahu... CL is NOT a show team or a race team, we are an owners club with stock to semi stock cars so just how can we compete out on the streets? ALWAYS HAVING CLEAN CARS AT EVENTS. Guys why do you think i go early? i wipe the day before and if get rained on over the pali, i wipe again when i get there...

20min is all it takes to just get the dirt off, IF you're not able to wipe your car in the meet up lot cuz you got there late for w/e reason... ASK SOMEONE standing around for help, thats what having club members is all about, someone to watch your back as you watch theirs... there will only be ONE EXCUSE, if its raining AS WE ROLL OUT... catch that? as we roll out, not before...

of course im not telling you what you should do, if you cant clean your car that doesnt mean you cant come, the 'club' is asking... but i am TELLING~

Ok guys I just got word that they are changing the meet up spot for this event. The meet up spot will now be Keehi Lagoon Park. This info comes from a very reliable source (aka Will Lau).

Got a phonecall from the toys for tots organizers... they are changing the meet-up location from Kapolei K-Mart to Keehi lagoon park. Strongly suggested to bring a tent because it's gonna be frickin hot "

I got the call. I'll be updating the the 1st post shortly. The times are now set. The route and everything going on at the base haven't changed. Just the meetup place.
