Chicago Lexus Owners Alert: 2006 Rx400h Metallic Grey
Heading to the forum to see if any Rx400h owners can help pass the word. I discovered that my Rx was stolen right from my downtown condo parking garage in our building! It is a 2006 metallic grey model.
I called the dealership (where I purchased the vehicle) to see what anti-theft devices come equipped with the vehicle but I am not confident that they can track the vehicle with the equipped gps or any type of standard anti-theft device that the car comes with.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Welcome to Club Lexus Pengapin!
I am sorry to hear your Lexus got stolen. That is definitely one of those worst nightmare type of situations.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that there is any way for the dealer to be able to track the vehicle.
I don't know the first thing about stealing cars, but I would imagine it wasn't an amateur that stole it. I would think that the engine immobilizer would be somewhat difficult to bypass, but then again, I don't know anything about stealing cars.
I hope your car turns up soon.

Yeah, I am not holding out much hope My poor car...
It was such a great car too, it was CPO and only put 30k miles on it in the 5 years that I had it...
It's being processed with insurance right now, but I have a feeling that even with the reimbursement, my wife and I are out at least $20k to replace it with a new or like model....
Guess I should start car shopping...

I moved this thread to Chicago, but I don't have much hope. neurocity has it right, this vehicle almost certainly ended up in a "chop shop". Be sure hope your insurance company treats you right. Hopefully "Flo" is not the carrier!

Man, I just dumped Flo (Progressive) for Liberty Mutual and their one year newer replacement program for this exact reason... Sorry for your loss!! Hope the insurance company can get you back into something nice.
