The further away from chicago you go the better deal you will get. I noticed that when i bought my bike last year. Although i bought mine private, dealers out near joliet were offering very good deals compared to the ones near the city. I also found good deals on bikes in wisconsin and michigan.

^ very true, I know one of the owners at DGY in Downers Grove. He sold my bike for me years ago and I'm sure he could be of help.

Now is the time to buy before weather breaks to get your best deal. I just couldn't imagine living in the city with a bike and all the crazy drives. Heck I sold mine because it was getting to crazy by me that it wasn't worth some stupid driver watching stores and not me on the road.

Shifter Kart gets my vote

Skip the 600cc and get a 900cc or + bike. Everyone I know that did this wasted money to only get a new bike next season and wasted money. I think my first bike was a 929cc Honda CBR then I sold and got the Suzuki GSXR 1000rr and I still was power hungry but the Hybusa was too big of a bike for my likings.

Its just getting harder and harder to ride any where. If I was to get a bike again I think I would go with a custom chopper to just cruise around. I managed to still be here after a few years of crazy riding that I wouldn't consider taking the risk.

Nielsen's in Lake County, Illinois has many used and new bikes. Fun place.

If its your first motorcycle ever I would highly suggest going used...you will drop the bike..wheter its in your garage or somewhere else. Also always wear your helmet no matter what!!!!!

I went from a small 250cc Honda Rebel (I'm 6ft 195lbs...)..rode that for almost two years then bought a used 02 Honda CBR F4i Sportbike...
