I said "really??" like twice to the guy. Then he asks, Are you a mechanic working on a IS?" " Because I can give you "jobprice... (or some word like that)...of $21.95."

He tried to justify his price by saying "its a 100k mile Iridium plug. Do you know how much Iridium costs?" and "You're paying for the longevity."

Yet he couldn't answer when I responded with. "If its a 100k mile plug, why is your SA telling me I have to change them at 60k miles?"

Again. All the dealers prices are the same or matchable. Sewell of course is a sponsor and hands out great discounts to CL people. But again, you would be waiting for the shipment.

I'm not knocking Arlington. The people there are nice. I'm sure the parts guys think the prices are absurd too. As I just did, people call around. People will get insulted and have a bad taste if a parts dept quoted a drastically different price than the others.

Again. You would have to wait. Then comes the chance that the "mouth breather" who picks and packs the box pulls the wrong plug.

I would rather get the maintenance stuff from the dealer. Something happens. Hey, look. All the parts and oil changes were done at the dealer. I go to trade in my car on another Lexus. Hey, this guy is loyal to us. Lets take care of him.

In this world of the F-U customer service mindset that is becoming more and more common place. I will pay to be treated well. If I can get through a transaction, service, what have you. And walk/drive out pleased instead of stressed and irritated. I will always pay extra for that.
