rear shade on is 250 fell apart
i have an 08 is 250 bought from mcgrath lexus in chicago. under full cpo warranty with an additional 3 years till 2017. i installed a subwoofer box in the trunk and a 2nd battery. i also cut out some of the metal behind the rear seat and dynamated the entire trunk. my rear shade completely fell apart from all of the vibration that the subs caused. do you think that if the dealer see's the metal cut out and the factory sub missing that they will not fix the shade and tell me you altered it? i did not touch any of the parts or wiring to the shade. any thoughts or suggustions on how to go about it p.s do they have a rear deck i can buy so i can get rid of the shade completely? it's just gonna keep happening. lol

Just take it out and tint your windows. Never really cared for that rear shade anyway. Tints look much better
as for them fixing it you can try but my guess is they will reject since you hacked up the rear deck. Just curious what you had to cut in order to fit your box Maybe post some pics of what you did.

the box fits nicely in the trunk! i cut the metal around the ski hole to increase the sound inside the cabin, thats all. and took out the factory sub. one would never notice untill panels removed or rear seat taken out. as far as the rear shade, i have an extra one i bought on ebay, but id rather trade someone it in exchange for thier rear deck covers for mine with the shade, cause i just dont use it and dont want to break another one and hear that rattle all the time. i might even wire tie those broken bars down. you cannot just take out the shade because the rear deck panels are cut out around the shade and sit in the shades clips.
