Thumbs down Service Experience at McGrath-Chicago

Had a pretty bad experience at McGrath-Chicago last week when I brought my car in to get an engine rattle fixed. This should have been covered under a TSIB which is very common among the 2IS. They essentially wasted my time and did not fix the issue (kept the car for almost a week). They also left wonderful black oil finger print marks on my A-pillars and tried to over charge me for the oil change where I brought in my own oil. On the plus side they didn't damage my wheels or car, but that should be expected of all dealerships. I have been to several Chicagoland dealerships (McGrath-Westmont, Bredemann, Highland Park, and Woodfield) for service and this was the most unpleasant. I will not be going back there for service.

Hey Vik, sorry to hear about that! My service adviser at Woodfield quit, so I'm going to try a new one this week. I'll let you know how it goes (Steve always made sure my car was well taken care of by the mechanics) and of course always let me bring my own oil (and never charged me for it).

sucks vik, normally mcgrath-chicago is good at what they do. maybe it was just bad luck for you.

Vik, I had the engine rattle fixed at Bredemann in February 2009 and I have not heard that noise again since then.

Sorry to hear Vik. Did you talk to the service mgr or any mgr to let them know? I hate taking my car to any dealership! Thats the problem with doing all this stuff to our cars. My wifes car I hand them the keys and dont care.

Didn't have time to deal with it since I had to go to work. I yelled at the guy over the phone though.
