In the same boat - looking for a good, reliable, independent lexus mechanic that can do brakes, maintenance, etc. Also, had an issue with the dealership telling me the Y exhaust pipe is not covered by the warranty (has a small leak) - does anyone have the lexus corporate number where i can call and make an argument as to why it should be covered?
Thanks
Thanks

No I don't, would really appreciate his info though. Also, spoke today to a rep at lexus corporate regarding the leak on my Y pipe - was told someone was going to follow up with me in a day or two to see what they can do for me. The rep sounded optimistic on the phone, keeping my fingers crossed.

In Need...
I'm looking for someone to do a few things to my car also. 2000 GS400 - muffler got loud all of a sudden, ball joints replaced and I have a rattle that needs to be quieted.
Thanks!

So, are you guys suggesting that I should just suck it up and have a dealer perform the service? Or, if I use an independent place just have them install new rotors and not trust them to resurface the current ones? I'm still hoping to get advice about where to take my vehicle.
a couple years ago. He specifically told me he had brake work done at dealership although
he has other work done elsewhere.

Hope this isn't a dead thread as I need whatever info any here may have or were given about a good independent shop to do Lexus work in the Chicago suburbs, preferably West suburbs. Just purchased a 2003 LS 430 and would like someone to look over and make sure there are no issues that I need to know about. Particularly have engine noise/sound that doesn't sound normal to me but I'm not sure what IS normal. Thanks.

Can I also get some recommendations on a good mechanic? In the BMW community A&L in Palatine is widely recommended but they specialize in bimmers.
Is there a shop like that for Lexus in the Chicagoland area? Job needed done are:
brakes, rotors, rear main engine seal by bell housing, power steering and AC belt, and timing belt. Quoted about 3600 at Mcgrath so I'm looking if the community has an independent that is recommended.
thanks!
