New window tint law in effect?
Can anyone confirm that House Bill 3325, a new law that permits window tinting on the front and passenger sides, is, in fact active? I've also read forum posts elsewhere with conflicting information about whether or not Chicago is exempt from the law (thereby maintaining the illegality of tinted windows).
I'm patiently waiting for my HS250h to arrive and plan to have the windows tinted, assuming my understanding of the new law is accurate. (And can anyone recommend a good place in Chicago to have it done?)

^ Thats only on cars/suv's that have factory tints.
If you have a car, like the OP, you can do 35% all around. You can also Limo tint the back windows and have nothing on the fronts. There is one last option, if I recall correctly, that you can go slightly darker and have only 50% on the drivers and passenger windows.
To answer your questions its in force so your okay. I have 35% all around and a 6" strip on my front windshield.
There is a long thread on this already if you search it will answer all of your questions.

I think depending on where people live, Umbra, does great work also. So if you're up in the Northwest suburbs, I pick Umbra. I think if people live closer to the city, then Ceasar. Umbra also has a lifetime warranty also with 3 types of tints to choose from. He also does clear bras and decals. (not that I would want my car decalled) have no idea if I spelled that correctly.
But, hey, at least there are choices out there.

I've been following a group on facebook (Illinois House Bill 3325 http://www.facebook.com/ILHB3325?ref=ts ) that seems to indicate it is Chicago that is claiming it's law supersedes State law, which, obviously, makes no sense...

Do people have to show up in court to contest if they got a tint ticket? If so, I'm wondering if all those who showed up in court can get together and sue the city for wasting their time...ruffle their feathers a bit.
