Talking Srt intake installed

So I tried out a intake from a 2gen GS since they make nothing for the 3gen. I got a new SRT intake from someone who never used and figured out how to wire the ECU. Well after having this in my garage forever I installed it today and it fits and when the car hits 3k+ I will see if I can get a video of this tomorrow. You need to hear this. It hesitates ~ 2k rpm then its hits 3 and goes crazy. I assume the ECU will learn this but I want to try to tap this ECU/Piggy back that goes with the 2gen to see if I can make it work

Thanks to Jeff for the offer of his garage today I ended up doing this in my garage and freezing my hands but its all worth it

Now I can drive like you all the time

Jeff is going to get some footage tomorrow with his HD Video. I dont know if it will sound as good but you will get to hear it in person. I cant wait to get the exhaust done. Both should sound good. I actually wonder if I will hear the exhaust with the intake.

Nice work Mike! (as always)
I'll be there tomorrow to post vids, I won't upload til night time though since I'll be with a friend at her photoshoot for some modeling thing, and I'll be there as her escort after work, so I may not be home until evening-ish.
Can't wait to see it (and hear it as well!).

^ No reply from my email and every time I try to call its a busy signal

I just had my dash light up like a Christmas tree(check VSC/Engine) Maybe the car wont like it after all Was fine. I feel it hesitate in the cold till after 2k RPM's and when I start it cold. Runs better when warmed up. I will give it a week and see how it does and if the ECU adapts to it. The intake pipe is larger so it may have to use the piggy back? It feels very crisp in response and man is it loud Taken it out a few times and beat it up and down the expressway.

I want the piggy back for now till spring comes and i can get the MHP tune done

mike. are you using the srt ecu that came with it. you probably get better results if you get like a apexi afc neo. or something to tune the a/f.

^ David I have it but I need to find out where to install it? Is that anything you can get your hands on? I dont know where its to go to begin with as I dont have the instructions but I would assume things to be different from the 2gen to 3gen?? Anything you can get your hands on would be appreciated. If I can pull what the 2gen guys did with this I will be VERY happy!!! I need to see if the lights go away or if its getting too much air with it on. I think if its not gone by Tuesday night I will go have them check the codes to see what it stored. When I started it (true cold) it fired but was idleing rough. It started to smooth out as it warmed up more and when I went to leave and take off it hesitated. This may be due to the VSC/Checking Engine? Once it was warmed up the car took off and nothing. Noticed on the expressway, car not fully warmed up that at 5k RPM it chocked but it didnt do it again. This pipe is by far larger then the OEM pipe so I has to be pulling in more air I would think??

I will drive it around today to see what it does and post back.

Edit: what is the Y pipe for? any pics? didnt know you where selling your SRT?? I just got this a month or so ago from a CA member who never used it.

Mike, did you get a chance to put your car on the dyno before you installed the intake? Post some pictures of the installed intake for those of us who don't know how that thing looks.

I bet it sounds great, the SRT Intake is on the list of mods for spring, I found a wiring diagram for the intake but for a GS300.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-ecu-prob.html

I don't know if that would be any help...

thanks guys, habeeb89 I am not sure if the 300 and 430 share the same wire diagram or wire color. I am not even sure if the 3gen shares the same as the 2gen since they are the same motor?

We got some footage today, Jeff was kind enough to get some outside the car and then I got in the car and did a few quick passes.

David do you think the car will self correct after a few days with out the piggy back?
