2006 GS300 AWD or RWD
Can someone advise what i should get. I am really going to need AWD in Chicago or is RWD ok for the several times a year it snows? I dont like the heavy feel of the AWD. ALso Gas milage is better in the RWD. PLease advise on pro's and con's.

You can do a search in the main forum and find a lot more information.
If you plan on getting a set of summer tires and winter tires you'll be find with the RWD GS. If you're the type that like to have all season tires on, you can eek by in the winter just having awd.
Either way I'd say winter tires are a must. But also consider how good of a driver are you and whether you know how to handle a RWD car in the winter well. If not just go for the carefree AWD.

What are some of the issues with Rear wheel drive in the snow. BY the way, I would buy all season tires. If they turned out to be difficult the first snow i would get blizzaks.
I have a toyota highlander AWD and i must say i dont like the heavy feel to it. I also heard that the accelorator box is too cramped in the AWD due to extra mechanicals

Regardless of which one you get, forget about the 300 and go for the '07 GS350 models. You'll be kicking yourself in the head for not getting it. They are SO much quicker than the 300's.
There are a couple guys in the Lexus classifieds that i've seen recently trying to sell those 300's b/c of the 350 coming out, lol.

If my mom is able to driver her GS400 all year round with all season tires then I'm sure you guys will be able to as well.
I have winter wheels for both of my GS's but only because I'm running performance summer tires which would be horrific in the snow.
